For Carly Simon

carly-simon-style

I love Carly Simon. She is seriously so awesome and is such a talent. This week’s post from the Channel Them series is dedicated to my good friend, Emilie. She maintains Flare and Glare and if you peek at her latest post you will see her thoughts on the book I am currently reading—alongside four or five others. (Do you have a hard time reading only one book at a time, too?)

Back to Carly Simon… she is so awesome. She’s one of my favorite artists to blast from my record player, dancing around the house in my PJs or bathrobe scream-singing “one more time! play it again be-FORE you put- your- GUI-tar down!” and so on… Above is one of her most iconic looks and possibly the easiest to replicate, as you see below.

Update this bohemian style with a slimmer pair of corduroys from J Brand and a more modern, brighter top from J. Crew. Top it off with a (J) French Connection floppy hat. While you are out channeling Carly Simon, keep this video in mind. Want even more inspiration from Carly Simon? I always start out reading more that one book, but I always end up just focusing on one.
